Thanks for stopping by my crazy little web journal!
Hope you find something here to make you smile.
Ok, I hope that I can try to remember all the things I have had happen since I last posted a REAL post
Well, right before Bob went on vacation, like I think the day before, he got news that he would be getting a transfer from his job. This was not good news, because he really loved working at the store he was at. He works retail, and loved his store manager. I did too, because he was really good to Bob and was very understanding when it came to family things and worked with him on his schedule. Needless to say, this brought him some distress for his vacation. So he started at this new store and was really having some woman-like temper tantrum about the whole thing. Bob does not like change and I swear between me and his old manager, we had to counsel him daily about it. So anyway, he's there for about 2 weeks and the district manager gives him buzz, and says he would like to meet with him about another oppotunity for him. SHEESH. So now Bob's getting promoted and transferred to yet another store. Tomorrow is his last day at the current store, and he will be moving to a store RIGHT near where we live. The good thing about this, is that he will be saving a LOT of money on gas. With gas prices these days, that is a definite plus. The extra money will also come in handy. Who in there right mind would ever complain about extra money?
Things are going well with the kids in school. I went to curriculum night last week and I just love Joe's new teacher. He seems to be very friendly and I think Joe will get along just great in his new class.
Last week, Joe went to Cub Scouts for his first meeting. He missed the first one, because I had something I had to do, and he really didn't want to go. So last week when it was like 30 minutes before we had to go, he starts having a temper tantrum (what is it with these guys??) and saying he didn't want to go. Well, yes, the mean mother I am went into a lengthy discussion about how I really think he should at least finish out his last year in Cub Scouts. I finally got him to agree to go. He went and had a pretty good time. The last few minutes of the meeting, they decided to play some football outside. Well, Joe has never been very athletic, given his size, I never really pressured him because I am so afraid the kid will snap in two. BUT, I thought, what the heck, he should learn these things. So I was watching from the back steps, and since it was dark, I could barely see them playing. Well, that should have been a clue to me, that they probably couldn't see well either. Next thing I know, Joe and Dee come running up the steps, Joe crying like crazy. Joe never cries. At least not from getting hurt. He usually just dusts himself off and goes on about his business. So when he came crying, I knew something was radically wrong. I checked him for spewing blood, and when there wasn't any, I asked him what was broken. "MY TOOTH!" Oh fricken great! Evidentally, he fell on another kid and chipped his tooth. This was a major blow to him. Not that it hurt much, but this was his permanent tooth and he was bugged out. Fortunately, I was able to fit him in the dentist the next day. They said there were no fractures to the root or nerves, but there was some movement between his two lower teeth. They were able to build up the tooth and said we would have to keep an eye on it, and cross our fingers
that neither tooth dies. So we wait. Good thing he didn't have braces yet, he might have cut up the other kid. So now I have to wait to see how things go with the tooth before I take him in to the orthodontist, which I was planning to do soon. AY AY AY. At least I got it repaired before picture day!
Deena has started Chorus this year, and of course, the little superstar that she is, she loves it. She can't wait until her Holiday Concert in December. I knew she would love it. Tomorrow is picture day, and all I have heard for the last week is what she is going to wear and how she wants her hair done. Yep, I think I am going to have to get up at like 4 am. to get her looking like a supermodel. I don't know why I go through so much trouble, when I know the school pics always come out like crap. Forgive me, but I know I am not the only one who feels this way. I know the photographers have like 18,000 kids to photograph, but they never seem to really get these kids to smile or pose properly. The only reason I get them every year, is that it's only a couple dollars more for a package, than to just get the class picture. I feel the class picture is necessary. I still have some of my own.
And to appease Rainbow, I will mention my car tales.
I am so irritated with vehicles lately. My van has really been giving me all the clues that it's ready for Voyager Heaven. The locks are freezing up, it's leaking transmission fluid, the shifter sometimes doesn't want to move, and it's making evil noises. It only has about 130,000 miles on it, and I swear one day it's going to commit suicide. We know it's on it's last leg, but I just haven't seen anything I really like to replace it, that is within my price range. To boot, Bob's car has been acting up. Something about the heater core I think? I don't know for sure. All I know is one day, he ended up with Anti-freeze/water in the passenger side. He did something to temporarily fix it, until he can find a replacement vehicle for himself. Now that thing, I expect to be showing signs of death. His car has 200,000 miles on it. So, in the very near future, we will both be needing new cars. Just in time for the holidays. YAY. If anyone wants to make a donation to the
Bob/Colleen Vehicle Replacement Fund
, just give me a holler, LOL.
Aside from the fact that I have been sick this week, that's all I can remember to share for right now.
Well, I hope I have no more drama this week, I am too tired and congested to have to fight with anyone this week. Oh wait, one more thing before I go!
I just want to publicly wish my friend KK a very Happy 30th Birthday today. He is in the Army, and unfortunately, stationed in Iraq right now, for his second tour. I am not going to ramble on about how much that sucks, but I hope that SOME HOW he is able to have an enjoyable day. Happy Birthday to you, kid, from your YOUNGER friend, hehe.
Alright, I am outta here, so I can go empty my nose.
You're welcome for that wonderful descriptive.
Toodles,
Colleen
Count your blessings, cutie-pie!
