Well, just wanted to make a quick post and say
  Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary
to myself and Bob, lol!



We got married 10 years ago today, on a Sunday evening. We didn't have a large wedding, and we had an even smaller reception. Reason for that being that people who were not invited showed up at the church, but knew better than to show up at our house for the reception. BUT ANYWAY, our day was a lot like it is today: rainy but warm. The day cleared up before we exchanged vows, so there was no rain for the ceremony or after that. Our cake was great, it was a raspberry cake, made by my sister-in-law, and she kept it secret as to what kind of cake it was going to be. I have to say though, the cake tasted much better on our wedding day than it did on our 1st anniversary, after being in the freezer for a year! We had a good time, but mostly couldn't wait for the guests to leave so we could open our presents to each other.

Our honeymoon really wasn't more than an overnight trip to Niagara Falls, but we enjoyed the time away from home, and the disgusting Salmon dinner that was way over priced. It was nice to be able to drink alcohol legally, too, since I was only 19, I was not legally allowed to drink in the States, but it was a sure bet that I was going to have a bit of alcohol on my honeymoon in Canada. We will always remember the nasty dinner though, because well, we got this tiny piece of salmon, with a tablespoon of veggies with holondaise (sp?) sauce. The best parts were the salad and the wine. Once we got back to the hotel, we called in the old standby: DOMINO'S Pizza. Which I enjoyed very much. We went on the Maid of the Mist and walked all over, and the weather was gorgeous. We had a great time in the heart shaped jacuzzi as well. It was no Carnival Cruise, but back then, we didn't have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out, just each other and our adorable red headed 6 month old son. To which we returned to the following day. Our trip was cut a little short because Joey wasn't feeling good. We had intended to stay another night, but I had to get home to my lil one.

Over the past 10 years, we have seen a lot of bumpy roads, and one way or another we got through it. We've seen a lot of jobs, a lot of vehicles, another baby, a new house and PLENTY of drama, but here we are, 10 years of marriage and 12 years of being together, later. We have survived, just barely at times, but despite the fact that there were people that were determined to see us fail and fail miserably, we have not. So to those people, I offer you a nice . Too bad you lost and we won. I hate to sound like a gloating 5 year old, but I say I have earned it. Too bad your greatest wish that we would not make it for longer than a few months, has not come true. Keep hopin', wishin' and prayin', and spend all your energy on that, because that is why you are not a part of our lives. Sorry to say, but it was ALWAYS evident.

On that note, I will end by saying that we will spend our day like we do any other, TOGETHER, and tomorrow we will be getting our family portraits done. I look forward to that very much, despite the fact that everyone, including me, hates having their photos taken.

My friend, and former boss, is taking them for us, so cross your fingers that everything goes well and the weather holds out, so that we can get some good ones.

I got my hair cut and colored last night, and though I know my mother will hate it (oh wait until she sees it) I love it to death, so thank you so much April for giving me such a hot 'do. Anyway, I have to get back to my husband before he wonders where I escaped too. We have a wonderful dinner planned and perhaps a quick trip to the costume shop to see what they have for our Halloween Costumes. I am not telling what they are, but I will say, we are dressing as characters that are related some how to one another. They are famous characters and whatever I can't find at the shop, I have to make. Let's hope that I find everything I am looking for.
